Rail Session @ the U

There was a rail session outside the Union at the U on Thursday. The Campus Rail Jam is touring around inviting local amateurs to compete. A lot of the best rail riders in the world come out of Utah and man some of these guys were throwing down. I know a couple of people in the audience would have really brought the pain but it was still nuts! It got me so stoked and I went out yesterday to hike rails and had one of the funnest sessions of my life. Just some jibs, some hip hop on the pod, and a windless snowstorm.

The Audacity of Hope

I just finished reading Barack Obama's book and I must say I was left impressed. I like his pragmatism and lack of ad hominem attacks. There were a few things I did not agree with and some topics that I felt uneducated about so could be easily swayed but I liked it.
I'm compiling a list of issues, determining my opinion, and then seeing who most closely matches. I'm trying to be as methodical and unemotional as possible and so far Obama is doing the best. I'll post up my list when it's a bit more complete and after the front runners are more obvious so you guys can shoot holes in it.

Winter camping anyone?

In the Wild with Webb

Mr. Webb hosting bald eagle day through BYU and the Bean Museum's "Experienceships" series, it is Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 AM. It costs $10.00 which can be paid on the day of at the museum. Just call 422-5051 to reserve your seat in the cougar vans. According to sources, up to 450 bald eagles can be seen at the same time during this time at the south end of the Great Salt Lake. I don't have info whether the trip will go to Salt Lake or not, I also know that this trip is catered to kids. Kristy and I are already signed up, hope you can join.

Hey bros, just thought that I would give you a little update. I'm posting this from the Harrell residence in Arlington, Virginia, where Maren and I have been since Tuesday. I came here for an interview and to look at apartments and we've been staying with Rick and Danielle and having a sweet time. Here we are at the White House in our man strength. Peace out.

Holiday Hang out

Hey biyatches, when is everybody going to be in town for the holdiays? I'll be in Utah Dec 17th - 24th so I hope some of you will still be around to play indoor and make reindeer lawn decorations do naughty things.

No I'm not talking the missing link. I have already sent some of you an e-vite(sweet word) to join my business network if you didn't get the e-vite it's because I don't have your email. the more people the more power in the network or the more use. This might be a good way for some of the crew to meet contacts/people who work in their fields. My first thought of linkedin was uhh but now I'm seeing why it could be good even if not now some time soon. I like the thought of being able to help any of you meet someone who could help you find a job, make a business deal, or just some good advice. For example my brother-in-law works for SWlaw in SLC maybe Ben has a question about getting a job at his firm or maybe Ryan wants to ask Don about IHC because he is on the board. Post your email if you want. Let me know what you think.

Grandview Picture Spam

I understand that only Kenny, Taylor, Ryan, Ammon and I went to Grandview, and I already posted the 5th grade wilcox pic, but there are quite a few nostalgic gems in the rest of these pictures. I've got higher quality scans of these and much more if anyone's interested.

My only regret at the Grandview was that I didn't fight the 3rd grade color change. It was 1990 and the bulls were right at the beginning of their dynasty, Michael Jordan was the shee and for some reason our school let us take a vote on what our new school colors should be. We then said goodbye to some pretty rad orange-with-brown-grizzlies tshirts and traded them for all sorts of junk. Now Provo school district is planning on closing Grandview Elementary (with some opposition); so fellow Grizzlies go live the memories while you can, maybe Ammon can get us in again for some carpeted basketball or indoor?
