No worries if your wife or your parents need to give you the O.K. before you read the blog i can give them the password or you could because you will have it too. I'm not saying that your loved ones can not or should not read the blog they are welcome. My concern is for people like Sam Ray, Kelli Lobendawn(spelling?), or Irish Mike. Maybe that is me being a D but after all you guys voted me in the top five D's (underground word). The only reason i made the top five is because Lance voted. Witch pushed me up to number 5 not number 6 where i belong.

Grandview Picture Spam

I understand that only Kenny, Taylor, Ryan, Ammon and I went to Grandview, and I already posted the 5th grade wilcox pic, but there are quite a few nostalgic gems in the rest of these pictures. I've got higher quality scans of these and much more if anyone's interested.

My only regret at the Grandview was that I didn't fight the 3rd grade color change. It was 1990 and the bulls were right at the beginning of their dynasty, Michael Jordan was the shee and for some reason our school let us take a vote on what our new school colors should be. We then said goodbye to some pretty rad orange-with-brown-grizzlies tshirts and traded them for all sorts of junk. Now Provo school district is planning on closing Grandview Elementary (with some opposition); so fellow Grizzlies go live the memories while you can, maybe Ammon can get us in again for some carpeted basketball or indoor?

One Year of the Blog

September 17th marks one year of the "Motto? I thought you said Vato!" Blog, and Google ran some analytics for me (since June 1st).

We finally left Provo for our new home in Boulder, CO. Our place is sufficiently comfortable, except none of our neigbors offered to help us move in. No joke-they just stood around watching Grace and me struggle to lift these huge couches and dressers into the apartment next to theirs. They must have assumed we were a splinter-cell of Chinese Al Qaeda setting up operations in Colorado and didn't want to get involved. So, in retrospect, despite the incessant, uninformed, and pervasive Republicanism of Utah, we at least could've counted on our nextdoor neighbors to give a meager helping hand. I guess Mormondom has its perks after all. Wishing good luck to everyone this coming school year-not you Rich.

Question: Will there be a barbeque?

Answer: Yes, tomorrow night.

I guess we'll just do some low-key q-ing.

It's pretty vague and doesn't really have many details, but the one it does have is a mention of Cesar Cardoso. I urge you all to look at his name closely. Is that really his middle name? This is a picture I took tonight. The sign says "Bank NRB". I noticed this sign back in 2004 and always wanted to take a picture of it. If you don't know what NRB means you can ask Ryan.

I first saw this video at the paulos' home a year or two ago on comcast's ondemand local artist section. The ending suprise is the best, but two of my favorites are the fresh and bloody 801 tatoo on his arm; and the fact that he begins the film with him burying a body in the west desert.

I've been back from Hawaii for a week, and the pain in the back of the thighs is just going away from this foible...so glad it is on camera.

Glad this never made it past scenario!

Just read this sombering story about a couple of kids in Colorado who attempted one of our best scenarios. I'm not quite sure, but I think the whole crew had to have been involved in a discussion or two about attempting the same thing. We're lucky that we made it through so many stunts without any casualties (although Kenny did lose a shoulder a couple of times.) Am I alone in wondering if we still could have pulled this one off?

- Finally watched Casablanca. It really was fantastic.

- Tried Dippin' Dots. Meh, I'd rather just have smooth ice cream, it was annoying.

- Drove 14hrs straight from Seattle yesterday/last night. Impressive for me cause I usually get tired after just a few hours. It took 5 Diet Cokes, and 1 1/2 Redbulls.
